I want to buy Gold but have some questions
Re: I want to buy Gold but have some questions
One last question, sorry hope you can keep track of them all! I just keep doing more research and keep forgetting important questions. This question is by far the most important. There will be certain people who register on my poker client that I will want to give certain permissions to. To give them permissions to allow them to give and take away play money from people who have registered. This is extremely extremely important, REALLY hope you have this option or some way to get around this to allow it.

The server requires Windows. The client is Flash and runs in any browser that supports the Adobe Flash plugin. System requirements are listed on the Poker Mavens web page:djayace wrote:I have a mac computer, to be able to be admin and run the poker software from my computer, would I need to have a PC to do so?

Yes, there's a "Starting Balance" setting that defaults to 0. As the admin, you can add or subtract chips either manually or through an external program/web script using the built-in API.djayace wrote:When someone first signs up to my poker client for the first time, can I have their default start out amount set to 0.00? And I'll be able to go in manually and give them a certain amount of chips before they sit down at a table. Along with being able to take it away as well once they leave.

Re: I want to buy Gold but have some questions
There is only one master admin account. If you want to divide up permissions, you'll need to design your own interface/authentication system for that and use the API to carry out the desired functions.djayace wrote:There will be certain people who register on my poker client that I will want to give certain permissions to. Thanks for answering everything.Unfortunately, I have no idea how to do software development, is this something you would consider doing for me if I were to pay you for it?Kent Briggs wrote:There is only one master admin account. Occasionally there are developers who advertise their services in these forums. Otherwise see item 11 in the FAQ for where to find programmers.djayace wrote:Unfortunately, I have no idea how to do software development, is this something you would consider doing for me if I were to pay you for it?

Re: I want to buy Gold but have some questions
Greetings, I also run a Mac computer.djayace wrote:Sorry about posting twice in a row, not sure how to edit my other post, another question came up. I have a mac computer, to be able to be admin and run the poker software from my computer, would I need to have a PC to do so?
In order to run the PM software you will have to either startup in Boot Camp or run your choice of Fusion or Parallels. The later is not recommended as it is a pain to configure and depending on the speed of your machine, can run slow. Boot Camp will run all versions of PM just fine and is a breeze to set up.

Don't you still have to buy a Windows 7 license to do that? Can you switch back to the Mac OS without shutting down the Windows session or do you have to reboot the machine for that?cuervo5150 wrote:Boot Camp will run all versions of PM just fine and is a breeze to set up.

Re: I want to buy Gold but have some questions
Yes, you have to install your own licensed operating system when you setup Boot Camp, but you can use Windows 7, Vista or XP. And your correct, once you start up in Boot Camp, you must reboot the machine in order to switch back to OSX. However, if a person uses Fusion or Parallels in OSX, they will be running windows in a separate, virtual environment. This will allow the user to run OSX & PC software simultaneously and be able to switch OS's with just a click of the mouse. The only drawback of this option, is performance.
