For Immediate Release Contact: Kent Briggs February 9, 2004 DIRECTORY SNOOP 5.0 Houston, TX -- Briggs Softworks announces the release of Directory Snoop 5.0, a cluster-level search tool that allows Windows users to snoop through their disk drives to see what data may be hiding in the cracks. Use Directory Snoop to recover deleted files you thought you would never see again or permanently erase sensitive files so that no one will know they ever existed. New for version 5.0 is the addition of an NTFS Module for snooping NTFS formatted drives. Support for FAT formatted drives has been improved with a redesigned FAT Module interface. Deleted files can now be recovered in batches. Filtering functions are integrated in the file tree to isolate deleted or other types of files. File records can be sorted by any available field across the entire drive. Other features in Directory Snoop include the ability to view, search, print, or copy raw cluster data, link clusters with the files that own them, examine the FAT and Master File Tables, and view files through external applications. You can also use Directory Snoop to destroy sensitive data by wiping file data, slack, and free drive space up to 35 passes and purge names of deleted files right out of the Master File Table. Directory Snoop is available for Windows 95 through XP and works with non-compressed FAT12, FAT16, FAT32, and NTFS file systems. Supported media include local hard drives, floppy disks, Zip disks, MO disks, and flashcard readers. The license fee is $39.95. Multi-user site licenses are also available. Visit the Briggs Softworks web site to download an evaluation copy, view screen shots, and read more about the program.
