I just took a pending tournament offline to change a setting and didn't remember that it would boot all the registrants.

I understand why it works this way (could be a rug pull on the participants, changing the terms of the tournament) so what I am suggesting is a confirmation dialog with a warning about this so that you know to save the registrations so they can be reloaded after.
