Can I have some help in getting my poker server up?

I'm trying to get my friend access the trial version of my server but we're getting error updating pokermavens.net database socket error #11001.

I have tried making a google cloud VM but have totally no idea to set it up and have it working with the software.

I noticed that there are no trial versions of the server available on the website as well so I was wondering if everyone else is having the same issue.

I just tested https://www.pokermavens.net/trial/ and it's working. Most likely you just have a firewall issue making an outbound connection. Did you click the "Windows Firewall" button at the bottom of the PM Service Manager and then "Add Poker Mavens to firewall exception list"? Are you running any kind of security or anti-virus software that could be blocking outbound connections?

I'm not sure if there are any security or anti virus, but I have tried doing all the steps you have provided and I'm also trying to access it using the virtual machine

ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH

Do I have to have cloudflare or something for this as well?

With a raw IP address you have to make an unencrypted connection, which means starting the URL with http (using port 80) instead of https (using port 443). An encrypted connection requires getting a domain name and an SSL cert for that domain.

Also, you can get a Cloudflare account, although it's not required. But they do sell domain names at wholesale prices and will provide a free SSL connection.
