Is there a way a player can self-suspend from cash games but still play in tournaments? If not, might be an idea for a future upgrade.

You could implement your own alternate system using the permissions. But the whole purpose of a self-suspend feature is for gambling addiction.

Speaking of gambling addiction, have you considered adding "stoploss" to the software? Regular sites has deposit rules which is one aspect, but I don't think buddy transfer is counted here. Not sure, not really tested.

Another aspect here is I don't think gambling addiction is very prevalent on tournaments. I guess turbo SNG/sit'n'spin or whatever they're called, could be the only candidate but the "reward" usually takes too long for an addict.
Another way would be to set a maximum loss for a period. E.g. 500 per week, or 200 on cash games per month but 500 on tournaments per month, etc.

How it's practiced is whole 'nother discussion though. I would suggest making them deposit limits. I.e. if you've already lost 170 on cash games and have a 200 limit, you can max deposit 30 on any cash table. Either 30 on one table, 3 tables with 10, 2 tables with 15, etc.

Have we lost site of the fact this software while clearly being used for grey market or underground poker sites isnt designed for pay sites. The permission issue is probably easiest for just using a required tag in their account or blocking cash games via that or SNGs or whatever. Ill be frank. Even some higher end software packages out there costing $3K-$5K I dont even think have an option for a stop loss on a player except those that have sites which allow players to go negative balance and can cap that in the vein of credit being extended and that complicates things alot further (some of the club software like Pokerbros and PPP)

Just set a nightly chip balance, when they reach zero chips, they're done.
