When and how are tables rebalanced during a tournament.

A few questions about rebalancing. Sorry if these questions have been answered already, I searched and found answers to many questions about rebalancing, but not the following:
When the player next in line to be big blind is removed from the larger table, are they placed in any particular position on the smaller table (assuming multiple open seats)? Seat just vacated or random?
Is there a possibility of a player facing consecutive (or nearly consecutive) blinds when being moved? (probably more likely to occur during table collapse, as player facing Big Blind is moved when single rebalance occurs)
When the tournament collapses to final table (or fewer tables) and a significant number of players are moved, is the seating order completely redrawn, or are the moved players simply seated in open spaces?
If a player registers and joins after a MTT has started (late registration), and the number of players before the late registration only requires a single table (say # of tables is set to 3, players per table is set to 9, there are 9 players and a 10th player joins late), how does the rebalance from a single table to two tables work? is it random, or based on seating position? (I see in another thread that it used to take multiple hands to move everyone, it seems that this now occurs in one step)
Thanks in advance for any insight provided.
