Hey Kent
So starting in 2019, WSOP is doing away with Ante for each player during their Tournaments. Instead, the Big Bling puts his Blind in plus the Ante. The BB is the only player that Antes.
Is there a way to incorporate this into PM?
If so, awesome. If not, it is fine too.

It makes more sense for live in-person play where you don't have to argue about who forgot to ante, etc. But there's little reason to do that in an automated online system.
Re: WSOP Ante System
Theres a way to do it if you really want to but the only way Im aware is to completely rewrite the blinds antes schedule for the given tournament (or obviously save it as an option in the future). Basically youd have to start with the basic no ante and then when antes kick in during the structure youd have to figure out the ante number and add it to the big blind while making sure there was no ante listed elsewhere.. Thats the only way Im aware of to setup a BB Ante system.. It can be done but its a pain in the butt to do (obviously a 6H table wouldnt have the same structure as a 9 or 10H table as far as thats concerned so its very data entry intensive). Honestly I agree with Kent being its all done automatically by the system it really isnt a concern online vs live where people are notorious for either accidentally or deliberately (angle shooting) the game.

Re: WSOP Ante System
Maybe i have it wrong, but i thought as WPT plays Big Blind Ante scheme, the total of the antes is always equal to the current BB, so the BB effectively always pays 2 times BB. If this is the case, then player count is a factor in the amount of ante paid at a given point in the game, and is not simply based on a predetermined level structure. As such, an implementation of a Big Blind Ante to online poker site may have value to people wanting to include the player count dynamic in setting the ante, and as well to better emulate structure and play of the top live tournaments.Kent Briggs wrote:It makes more sense for live in-person play where you don't have to argue about who forgot to ante, etc. But there's little reason to do that in an automated online system.
