Which version of PM and Windows? Is Windows configured to auto log you in? Most Windows Server 20xx systems require a manual login so PM won't autostart until that happens.riclesb wrote:for some reason program is not starting up on a reboot (option is set to yes), any ideas?

5.02 windows 7 64.
I seem to have fixed it by turning the option off closing PM, restarting and turning option back on.

I bet I know what happened. Did you upgrade from version 4 and use the import utility? It copies the setting over but doesn't actually activate it in the Windows registry, which is normally only done when the setting goes from No to Yes. I'll fix that in the next update.riclesb wrote:I seem to have fixed it by turning the option off closing PM, restarting and turning option back on.

Re: server not starting on reboot
This post is now a few years old and the world has moved on. Windows 10 is now one of the current operating systems and rented virtual servers are standard.Kent Briggs wrote:Which version of PM and Windows? Is Windows configured to auto log you in? In exactly such an environment we run our poker server (Gold version with current release).
Our problem is: We have not yet managed to get the poker server up and running after a reboot (for example after a Windows software update) without a user having to log in.
Does anyone have an idea on how to implement this?
Autostart Server at bootup is set to "Yes" but the server will not start until a user logs in via RDP. We would like to avoid autologin of a user without a password for security reasons.
Best regards

You can automate a login in the Windows registry:JerryB wrote:Our problem is: We have not yet managed to get the poker server up and running after a reboot (for example after a Windows software update)

I wouldn't necessarily recommend doing that, though. I would just turn off automatic Windows Updates and perform your updates manually. Your server should never reboot without your permission.
Re: server not starting on reboot
Thank you for this tip. Since there seems to be no way to run the poker software without a user, we will probably do without the automatic Windows updates.Kent Briggs wrote:I wouldn't necessarily recommend doing that, though. An auto logon with saved credentials is out of the question for security reasons.
