In the FAQ's you mention you use http://www.burst.net/winvps.shtml for hosting.

I noticed they have several different packages...

What pkg is suitable for hosting Mavens ?

My demo site is using their #2 Plan at $12.95/mo. You might start there and upgrade later as needed, depending on how many players you have.

Thanks. I assume there is not a need to add any extras to the package (the items they have listed at the bottom)

On the flip side if I had someone else host this for me ... Would have to give them the install. Then they would give me acres to the machine it is on. Would that be OK I.e. Would not revoke the license?

It's cheaper to upgrade the whole plan than to add extra features.

As long as it's someone you trust not to steal the software. You are responsible for your license.

So I looked at the $12 pkg ... and clicked on the buy it now ... but when it takes you to the next page ... it seems like you have to pick a computer for the server ? which then wants to changed $50+ a month.

Am I missing something ... or does it really end up being more than the $12 a month ?

Nevermind ... figured it out. I was missing something.

However .. do you think it matters that I am in Canada and the servers are in the US ?

Geographically it shouldn't matter. Legally it would only matter if you aren't running a play-money site.
