For Immediate Release Contact: Kent Briggs February 4, 1999 NEW SECURITY TOOL FOR ONLINE MERCHANTS Houston, TX -- Briggs Softworks announces the release of Order Maven 1.0, the latest security tool for online merchants who need to collect credit card orders over the Internet. Order Maven provides a secure alternative for merchants who do not have access to expensive SSL web servers and eliminates the hassle of requiring customers to install cumbersome third-party encryption software. Order Maven creates customized order forms in a standalone Windows "exe" format that can be distributed royalty-free. Customers download and run the forms with no special installation required. As they choose product options, payment method, shipping address, etc., an internal report is built and e-mailed back to the merchant with a push of a button, using the built-in public key encryption function and SMTP support. Order Maven uses export-approved 56-bit symmetric encryption with a 512- bit Diffie-Hellman key exchange mechanism. Forms are built visually by dropping standard Windows components on a blank form. Properties of individual components are set by right-clicking the mouse button. The script editor is used to develop simple scripts for interacting with the user and building an output report. The application can be compiled and run directly from the development environment for immediate testing. Order Maven is available for the Windows 95/98/NT platforms with a single-user license fee of $29 plus S&H. Visit the Briggs Softworks web site at http://www.briggsoft.com to download an evaluation copy, view screen shots, and read more about the program.
